Easyclip
I was approached by a company called HellermannTyton to help them design a cable management system that could be mass produced.
Easyclip is a colour coordinated cable management system for new build homes. The aim of Easyclip is to to help reduce the time spent organising or locating cables and wiring looms in electric cars, construction sites and the domestic environment.
Function
A time saving and user friendly cable management solution
Easily removable but can be fixed temporarily or permanently
Custom colour coding and labelling can be used to comply with each site’s rules and guidelines
Provides a visual aid for those who are new to the site and for people who are learning, such as apprentices
When returning to work on a wiring loom that has used Easyclip there will be no tangled cables
Features
Snap to separate
Colour coded for easy identification
Suitable for a variety of cables up to 20mm in diameter
Can be secured with screws or adhesive
Arrives in strips of 20
Made from Nylon (polyamide 66)
Easyclip (MK.IV)
To install Easyclip there is now a slot instead of a through hole to give the user more flexibility in how they place it.
To remove the top can be simply pried off using a screwdriver, the components are designed with angled faces to allow for this.
There is now a 4mm gap between each of the brackets to allow for much easier moulding.
The components now feature a 5 degree draft angle and no sharp corners to be removed from the mould with ease.
Instructions for Use
Site Key
In order to keep track of which cable leads to where, or the purpose of each cable, a site key was created. This means that anybody working on the site can identify each cable with ease.
